Discharge criteria following Spinal

Hi all,I'm interested in knowing what you have for discharge criteria for DaySurgery Spinal patients. Specifically in regards to voiding. I sure wouldappreciate your response to this question.Happy Holidays

For home discharge pts need to achieve a 9/10 Post anesthesia Discharge Score (PADS) at our hospital. The PADS was developed in the early 1990s by Dr. Frances Chung.
Voiding is not a standard requirement for all pts going home, but if they are at higher risk of urinary retention (urologic procedure, prostate enlargement, etc) the Anesthesiologist will specify that the pt must void prior to d.c. home.

All patients who have had a spinal must void prior to discharge.
